About

The weekend will be a chance for folks to learn how to prepare healthy food for their dogs using seasonal ingredients. The framework for the classes is designed to make a bulk amount of food, for a number of dogs with a moderate cost for each meal. We refer to this as the 10 Dogs-10 Days program.

Included in your ticket price, is Friday night fish fry,  a Saturday night meal, and Sunday brunch. All other meals are your responsibility. There are several restaurants and grocery stores close by. You will have the use of the farmhouse kitchen and camp fires if you would like to cook your own meals.

This is a team effort. Those that attend must be prepared to slice, dice, portion and even tend the campfires, where many of the lessons will take place. They say people learn best when exposed to new information 3 times, so that is how we are going about our weekend together. Combining eating and meeting will help us use our time together most productively.

Friday night will be an orientation into what we will be doing Saturday. Meanwhile, our guests will enjoy a Wisconsin Friday Night Fish Fry.

Saturday, we are preparing our bulk dog food. This is a group participation venture. There will be duties, such as slicing, dicing, portioning and grilling over open fires. This is a festive event, so we will be preparing food for ourselves as well. What the heck, may as well! This is the spirit of 10 Dogs 10 Days. With a little luck, if any of our campers went fishing successfully during the day, their catch may be added to the nights meal.

Sunday, 9 to noon, students will have a chance to ask any remaining questions, share insights and finish up on any tasks left from Saturday night's event.  If you are prepared to bring the dog food home with you, you will be able to purchase at cost. We will have containers available for you to put in your cooler.

Sunday, brunch will coincide with the above, and will include omelets made from our farm fresh eggs, toast, skillet potatoes, and coffee or tea.

The cost of the 10 Dogs 10 Days event includes the classrooms, the Friday night Wisconsin Fish Fry, Saturday night meal and Sunday Brunch.

We will do our best to accommodate diet restrictions made known to us in advance.
